| I ordered several cockatiel babies from Josh Maple who is currently the President of the National Cockatiel Society. What I ordered and what I received were NOT the same. He just sent tiels that he did not want and ones that I certainly Did Not order. Why do I say this? Well the band numbers on the babies I ordered should all be 2011. The ones he sent range from 2006 through 2010. Emails he sent to me specifically state the parentage with both parents as Grand Champions etc of the ones I ordered and he also sent photos of young babies begging for food. When I picked up the babies from the airport and got them home, I realized half of those tiels were not the ones I actually ordered and paid top dollar for. Not even the same mutation I ordered. Josh promised I would get full pedigrees on each baby I bought as soon as I paid for them. Well I paid for them all, he did send a few pedigrees via email, and then told me he would send the rest of the pedigrees with the kennel. The band numbers given to me via email of the babies I supposedly bought, didn't even match the pedigrees he sent. I emailed him and asked him about the tiels I did not order. He said one died so he just took it upon himself to add a replacement (not even the same mutation or champion parents), but then he said that morning of the flight he said that particular replacement tiel got hurt so he sent another replacement for the original one I ordered. He did not even call or ask me what I would like to do. He just threw in what he didn't want. I do not believe anything happened to my original tiels. He just pocketed the money and sent some culls along as his replacement. In place of another sibling same calibur tiel, he sent me an old maid and a mutation I did not even want. This is my experience with Josh Maple. Turns out the tiels he told me were hens were actually cocks in some instances. I sold some of them without re-sexing them and sold them what he told me they were, so who knows perhaps others received tiels with his band on them and received the wrong sex too because honesty does not seem to matter with him. I am still waiting for the pedigrees and compensation. I have shared this dishonest experience with other breeders regarding Josh and what I have found out is that I am certainly not alone and definately not the first one this has happened to. I thought since he was voted into an office representing the Cockatiel breeders out here, he would be honest and do business in a manner that we all expect. I was way wrong and wish I did not order from him, but cannot take that back now - just can tell you about my experience with him. |
